For the people of Sunsgrove, the annual Wintersdawn festival is a time to come together and celebrate their past accomplishments. For Quinlan, a newly-minted scout of the kingdom, it's his one chance to partake in food and fun, and to forget the year's trials.

Unfortunately for Quinlan, this year events conspire to send him into the wilds of the Western Deep: an untamed forest filled with the kingdom's deadliest creatures.

Before he can return home, Quinlan must successfully complete his very first solo patrol, uncover the fate of a lost merchant, and survive the dangers hiding within the Western Deep.

Needless to say, this year's Wintersdawn festival will be anything but ordinary.

It needs a little more polishing. I'm going to read the comic, and then I will play this.

Thank you so much for giving Wintersdawn a play, IndieJunkie! I don't speak Turkish unfortunately so I wasn't able to follow along with your commentary, but I caught a few things here and there :)

That was a delightful little trip into the world. Thankyou for brightening up my day with it!

Aw, thank you for giving the game a play, Sarabi! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! :)

I feel like I needed to research the world of Dunia to better understand some of the topics but overall, it was nice. Like I said in my video, it would be cool to see more games & get introduced to more of this universe. & maybe go on a hunting party to take on a treewalker. :)

That's awesome, CrypticHybrid! Thanks so much for posting this playthrough! We'd love to expand this into a larger game, or do more smaller games in the same world. Taking down that treewalker for real would be a pretty big deal! :)

A big deal yes, a great adventure for a team of heroic Tamian scouts. :) If you're thinking about a KS for a new game it would be awesome to do an interview.

We've been kicking the idea around, yeah! We're less than a year out from our last Kickstarter (for a printed version of Volume 2 of the comic) but I know we'd love to find a way to do more of this sort of thing. And if we do, we'd absolutely be down for an interview!

I hope that one of these days that you guys start writing books based on BTWD because I know I'd start reading them then. I currently have 6 out of 22 books of the Redwall series and I'm slowly collecting them all because of my love for the series and the fact that it helped me find the furry fandom.

We've certainly dabbled in prose stories (most recently a short story on the Western Deep website from last week that gives a bit more context of Wintersdawn's story for long-time readers) but we've also managed to produce physical printed books of Volumes 1 and 2 of Western Deep for two separate Kickstarter campaigns :) Hopefully we can get a proper online store squared away for anyone interested!

So is this inspired by Redwall?

Indirectly. Its a game based on Beyond the Western Deep, a fantasy webcomic with Redwall-esque things.

Hi Muhkat! Short answer: Yes!

The longer answer: Wintersdawn in the Deep takes place in the same world as our webcomic, Beyond the Western Deep (www.westerndeep.net)which was absolutely inspired by our love for the Redwall series, alongside graphic novels like Mouse Guard and films like The Dark Crystal.
